The BRP SUB Mount is a triple clamp accessory designed for installing a Scotts steering stabilizer under the handlebars. This mount offers two handlebar positions: 17mm and 27mm in front of the steering stem. The stock bar position is 14mm in front of the stem. The handlebar height is raised by 22.5mm. For those who prefer the stock handlebar height, Brp recommends using a Pro-Taper Steering Damper Low.
BRP triple clamps provide various options to cater to different rider ergonomics. In most cases, a BRP SUB Mounted triple clamp offers a 25mm (1″) taller bar position and a greater “RTS” (Relative to Stem) distance than a stock triple clamp. This improvement helps enhance ergonomics for most riders.
The BRP SUB Mount is compatible with 1 1/8″ handlebars (optional 7/8″ bar adapters are available). This mounting style offers several advantages for both average height and taller riders:
- Reduces the risk of rider contact with the stabilizer
- Prevents damage to the stabilizer in case of a crash
- Creates a shorter tower for more positive stabilizer action
- Allows the use of bar pads for additional rider protection
- Provides a 25mm (1″) taller bar position for taller riders (shorter riders can use lower bar bends)
BRP triple clamps are manufactured from high-quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum, which is stronger than the OEM unit and comparable in weight. The precision-machined fork bores feature a 2-pinch bolt design that increases the clamping surface on the forks, preventing fork twist during hard landings or crashes. The BRP triple clamps are finished in a signature black anodize, giving your machine a factory look.
This is an easy bolt-on assembly that requires basic hand tools and can be installed by a novice mechanic.
SPECIAL NOTES: When using a Scotts stabilizer in the SUB Mount configuration, the arm must be reversed mounted. For those using a lower bend bar, it can often emulate the stock bar height. Due to the SUB Mount's increased height, triple clamp style enduro handguard mounts will not work with many bar bends. Brp recommends using BRP BMI-9254 Hand Guard Mounts instead.
