The BRP SUB Mount is a triple clamp accessory designed for CRF 450 R/RX models. It allows the installation of a Scotts steering stabilizer under the handlebars, offering two handlebar positions: 12mm or 22mm in front of the steering stem. This mount raises the handlebar height by 22.5mm. For those who prefer the stock handlebar height, Brp recommends using a Pro-Taper Steering Damper Low.
BRP triple clamps provide various options to cater to different rider ergonomics. The SUB Mounted triple clamp typically offers a 25mm (1″) taller bar position and a greater “RTS” (Relative to Stem) distance than the stock clamp, enhancing ergonomics for most riders.
The BRP SUB Mount is compatible with 1 1/8″ handlebars. This mounting style offers several advantages, including reduced risk of contact between the rider and stabilizer, prevention of stabilizer damage in crashes, shorter tower for more positive stabilizer action, and the ability to add bar pads for additional protection.
BRP triple clamps are manufactured from high-quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum, offering superior strength and comparable weight to the OEM unit. The precision-machined fork bores feature a 2-pinch bolt design, increasing clamping surface on the forks and preventing fork twist during hard landings or crashes.
This is an easy-to-install assembly that requires basic hand tools and can be performed by a novice mechanic.
Special Notes: When installing a Scotts stabilizer in the SUB Mount configuration, the arm must be reversed mounted. For those who prefer the stock handlebar height, a lower bend bar can often emulate the stock height. Due to the SUB Mount's increased height, triple clamp-style enduro handguard mounts may not work with many bar bends. Brp recommends using BRP BMI-9254 Hand Guard Mounts instead.
